New to Rhinos Kickboxing? Looking for a martial arts club?

Joining a new martial arts club can seem pretty daunting, so we decided to provide some information in the form of frequently asked questions, that you may find useful if you are looking to join your local Rhinos Kickboxing class.

Am I too unfit or old?

No you are not, our job is to progressively make you fitter and we love seeing the massive improvements our students have made since joining. We aren't going to bark at you like Sergeant Majors, but we will help motivate you to improve your fitness and flexibility at a rate suitable to you.

Do I have to sign up to lengthy contracts?

Absolutely not! Beware of any club that gives you a minimum contract you have to sign up to, they are quite often just money making schemes, rather than proper martial arts classes. With us you can just pay £4.50 on the day, we do offer standing orders at £31.50 per month that will save you cash if you love training as much as we do, but it's up to you.

Do I have to fight?

No. We run sparring (light controlled fighting training) sessions separately to the main advertised classes(straight after the classes in Bedwas and Caerphilly), meaning if you want to spar you can, if you don't want to then you don't have to.

Sparring is NOT fighting however, and everyone taking part is expected to control their power during classes. We all have jobs to go to the next day and should be using these sessions to develop and progress.. not injure each other.

What should I wear?

Loose clothing, such as jogging bottoms and a t-shirt is usually good.

When can I start?

At the next class, we always welcome new starters. Either pop along to the advertised class or give us a call if you need more help.
